Where are the best places to stay?
We suggest staying on the south shore of the island near Waikiki. We will be providing a shuttle from Waikiki to the wedding venue and back to Waikiki on Friday November 27th. Staying on the north shore of the island is absolutely an option as well, although BnB options and hotels are extremely limited. If you are feeling adventurous camping up north is also an option. At this time we do not have a hotel block saved for our wedding celebration. Whenever we staycation in Waikiki we enjoy staying at the Alohilani Resort, White Sands Hotel, Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki Beach, and Surfjack Hotel.

We absolutely want to celebrate with your kids too! Kids are welcome to attend our wedding day and the Wa’ahila nature walk. Kids are NOT welcome to attend the sunset boat cruise. Thank you for understanding and please reach out if you’d like us to help with arranging childcare at any point during your visit.

What things should I know about island life?
Respect for the land & its people are a huge part of the culture of Hawai’i and what it means to live pono and give aloha…. This means leaving wildlife wild, not touching or interacting with any wildlife you might see - even the cats!! Always leave the land better than you found it - clean up after yourself & recycle plastic, glass & aluminum whenever possible. We are all visitors here - act like the first time you met your person’s parents.

Is there a dress code?

Reef Safe Sunscreen
Its super important that you protect your skin while visiting the islands, its also super important to not impede on the wildlife while doing so. It is illegal in the state of Hawai’i to sell sunscreen with oxybenzone and or octinoxate as ingredients. DO NOT TRUST PACKACKING! Please read the back ingredients list, must NOT CONTAIN oxybenzone, octinoxate, avobenzone and or octocrylene. This is something that is extremely important to us as a couple: taking care of the Earth and its inhabitants. These ingredients are very common ingredients in sunscreen that are scientifically known for their harming effects on coral reefs and marine life. And while it is illegal here, you may also consider using reef safe where you live because these ingredients still harm wildlife whether its in the Pacific, Atlantic Ocean and beyond.
